Doppo Beer for Unagi (dark beer)

This beer is specifically made for grilled unagi (eel), followed by the Japanese custom of eating unagi on the Day of the Ox, one of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. According to its origin, the color that represents Genbu (the guardian deity of the north), is black - and eating something black on this day was believed to bring good luck. Doppo has produced this beer based on the tradition - it pairs well with grilled unagi (eel).
